About the class

This sewing workshop is designed for anyone wanting to learn how to make their own clothing. Elastic waisted items are easier in this time frame but there are possibilities to make a variety of things, for example - elastic waisted pants or shorts, a tiered skirt, a bias cut skirt, a simple shift dress, a singlet top - the options are actually limitless. Your item will be created to your measurements from fabric of your choice - the amount to be decided depending on your size and style. I have many patterns I can share with you in pre class discussions but you may have something in mind in which you will need to purchase the pattern. Each class size is 4 people. What’s included: Experienced tuition in class and pre and post support via messaging. Elastic Use of sewing machines and tools Herbal Tea for refreshments What you need to bring: Your pattern - but I do have a lot I can provide which you can choose from Fabric - linen or cotton are best for learning with and washed and dried before class. Thread Your own sewing machine if you would like help learning to use it Water bottle and lunch either to be shared with the group or for yourself Skill level: Beginner to Intermediate 16+ Skills learned: Establishing your size Layout of pattern and cutting out Following pattern instructions Threading a sewing machine Buttonholes, overlocking, inserting elastic, French seams, hemming.
